Hi! I’m Akhil. I’m a Machine Learning Engineer at Atlassian working with LLMs.
Experience
Atlassian
I am currently an ML Engineer at Atlassian, working on Rovo Dev and applied AI systems for developer productivity.
- Shipped production features for Rovo Dev CLI/TUI, including session hooks, slash commands, PR review flows, and agent-session capture.
- Improved reliability by fixing Sentry-backed crashes across session restore, deferred tool calls, ACP MCP server mapping, terminal I/O, and Textual widget lifecycles.
- Built observability and evaluation tooling with Sentry, OpenTelemetry, MLflow, Databricks, and Bitbucket Pipelines.
- Developed agentic workflows for Jira issue scoping, PR analysis, SWE-bench style evaluations, and AI-assisted code review.
- Added platform hardening for security, CI/CD, model selection, logging, tracing, and cross-platform file handling.
Netomi
Since July’19 I have been working at Netomi as an ML Engineer and a Data Scientist. It has been a wonderful experience with great teammates and mentors I got the opportunity to learn a lot about software engineering, data science and machine learning. Some of my key skills I picked up at Netomi are
- Working with Open Source LLMs and optimising them using SOTA techniques.
- Working with LLM frameworks to develop great products
- Developing enterprise grade services utilising LLMs and similar scale models to serve high volume traffic.
Fractal Analytics
This was my first job out of university! Here I worked as a consultant, I worked with visualising and transforming huge volumes of data for major Fortune 500 companies.
